The Race of Kings

Among the departments of Cusco and Puno, in the high Andean town called San Pablo, the Feast of Kings has a very unique feature, the three kings called Inkarri, Mistirri and Negrorri, compete in a horse race.

Depending on who wins, it will determine the future of the region for the following year. If Inkarri, representing the valleys of Cusco, wins, it will be a good year for crops. If Mistirri wins, the plateau region (above 4000 meters) will benefit, and if Negrorri wins, it will not be a good year for any of the two regions, there will be shortages but, curiously, there will be money.
