Peru is a country where you can find many ancient ruins and most of them are still a mistery even today. Then the pilot gave the order to shoot down the object but breaking all logical flight patterns of any aircraft manufactured at that time , the object left the scene leaving a trail of doubt which then formed part of what NASA considered a "very serious" incident.
