Teofilo Cubillas was a famous football player in Peru and all around the world. He played in the Peru national team that won the America Cup in 1975. "El Nene Cubillas" was named the best South American Football player of the Year in 1972.


He used to played in midfield, his technique was remarkable and scored more than 500 goals in all his career. Cubillas played for his beloved club, Alianza Lima, where he won two Peruvian League titles and one Metropolitan Championship.

He played in the Swiss, Portuguese and American leagues as well as in two world cups (1970 - 1978)

I have just made a research and found out how good a player he was. He was selected as Peru's greatest ever player in a poll. He was actually a legend of free kick. He could see a gap even before it existed.

Yes, I agree with you, Teofilo Cubillas was probably one of the greatest peruvian football players of all times. He had an incredible dribbling and playing skill.

I am not sure what he is up to these days.
